Orton Gillingham Tuition

Orton-Gillingham (OG) is a proven, structured method for teaching reading and writing. It uses a step-by-step, multi-sensory approach—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic—to help phonics stick.

At Bespoke Learning, OG guides everything I do. It’s personalized, so no prior knowledge is needed, and each concept is taught at the student’s pace to ensure full understanding before moving on..

Morphology

Morphology is the study of how words are built using prefixes, suffixes, and roots. Understanding these parts helps students decode unfamiliar words, improve spelling, and make sense of language structure. It’s a powerful tool that boosts reading confidence and builds vocabulary.

FAQ

  • The first step is a Zoom consultation with the parent/s or carer. We will discuss what brought you to Bespoke Learning and how I can help.

At that point we can discuss the optimum number of lessons and the duration.

  • I am based in Cape Town, South Africa (GMT+2) and have students in Asia, Africa and Europe.

  • All classes are conducted via Zoom on a PC or laptop. Students have the option to wear headphones based on their personal preferences or needs. No additional equipment is necessary.

  • Bespoke Learning is truely bespoke! Lessons vary between 30 minutes and an hour. At the initial consultation we can discuss your child’s leaning style and their optimum learning time.

  • The key to success is consistency.

I recommend at least two lessons per week.

  • There is no ‘right’ age for offering support. I have taught children from 6 to 16 and because each lesson is uniquely tailored to your child, the content, pace and learning will be bespoke to their needs.

  • Since every student is unique, session costs may vary based on individual needs. We can discuss this at the initial consultation.

Prices start at 45 USD for a 30 minute lesson and are paid in advance.
